Donald Trump Seeks Trademark for Metaverse Venture

Donald Trump’s Trump Organization has filed an application to trademark TRUMP for a planned metaverse dedicated to the former U.S. president. This was reported in a blog by the law firm Gerben IP.

The document covers a wide range of product and service categories intended for the proposed platform.

The platform will offer the ability to purchase virtual clothing and other goods, spaces for educational activities such as business training, and its own NFT marketplace.

Only content approved by Trump will be available on the platform. This restriction also applies to non-fungible tokens.

Josh Gerben of Gerben IP called the situation ironic, as the Trump Organization is asking patent office officials to review their application while the president’s administration pressures these individuals and threatens them with dismissal.

At the time of writing, the application is pending review.

Back in November, Trump linked Bitcoin’s achievement of an all-time high to his policies.
