Donald Trump Vows to Safeguard Bitcoin Mining Sector

Presidential candidate Donald Trump held a meeting with representatives from the Bitcoin mining industry, pledging to protect mining operations in the United States and globally.

The attendees included Matthew Schultz from CleanSpark, Jason Les and Brian Morgenstern from Riot Platforms, Salman Khan from Marathon Digital, and Amanda Fabiano from Fabiano Consulting.

Also present at the meeting was David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine.

Following the event, Trump posted on his social network, Truth Social. He expressed a desire for all “remaining Bitcoins to be produced in the USA,” as this would help “dominate in energy.”

“Mining may be our last line of defense against CBDC. [President] Joe Biden’s hatred of Bitcoin only aids China, Russia, and the radical left communists,” the politician wrote.

Earlier at the Libertarian Party National Convention, Trump stated that the US should become a leader in the crypto industry. He also promised to pardon Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht if elected president.

In June, the presidential hopeful dubbed himself the “crypto president” and criticized Democratic attempts to regulate the industry.

According to a Paradigm survey, about 48% of voters owning digital assets plan to vote for Trump. Another 38% support Biden, while 13% remain undecided.

Previously, billionaire Mark Cuban described attitudes towards cryptocurrencies as a key difference between the candidates. However, he believes that neither politician truly understands the issue.
