Dubai-based firm orders $650 million worth of crypto-mining hardware

Dubai-based Phoenix Technology Consultants, UAE signed a contract to supply crypto-mining equipment worth $650 million. CoinDesk reports.

According to the publication, the purchase was announced by the firm’s CEO Munaf Ali during the World Digital Mining Summit (WDMS) in Dubai, organized by Bitmain. He called the deal one of the largest in the history of the industry.

Delivery of the equipment is expected to begin in 2022.

Dubai-based Phoenix also intends to place another order for ASIC miners in the third quarter of 2022, worth more than $2 billion.

According to Ali, the mining centre’s capacity will exceed 600 MW. Within 12 to 24 months, the company plans to increase to 1.4 GW.

Phoenix Technology Consultants is affiliated with Phoenix Store — Bitmain’s distributor in the EMEA region.
