Duma Committee on Financial Markets approves cryptocurrency taxation bill

The State Duma Committee on Financial Markets backed the draft law “On Amendments to Parts One and Two of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation” and recommended its adoption in the first reading. 

The committee justified its decision by the widespread adoption of digital technologies and the expanding use of cryptocurrencies, including for illicit purposes.
