The electric-car maker Tesla will release merchandise that can be purchased with meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE). Elon Musk said so.

“Tesla will make some merch available for purchase with DOGE and see how it goes,” the entrepreneur wrote.
He did not reveal details about which items are involved.
The price of DOGE reacted to Musk’s statement, rising about 15.6% in the last hour (CoinGecko). At one point, quotes exceeded $0.20, before retreating to around $0.18.
In September Musk noted progress by the developers of the Dogecoin client in preparing the groundwork for eventual reductions in network fees.
Earlier, the founder of Tesla admitted that he personally owns ETH and DOGE.
In 2021, meme cryptocurrency ranked fourth in Google’s worldwide search queries in the News category.
