In November, Lummis promised to move discussion of the leading cryptocurrency to the national level.
The glow-eyed look was also adopted by CoinShares’ Chief Growth Officer Meltem Demirors and MicroStrategy’s chief executive Michael Saylor.
According to TVTropes, “laser eyes” signify superpowers and the ability to directly control objects. The corresponding meme spread after the 2010 release of the computer game Mass Effect 2. Online services appeared that allow adding glowing eyes to photos.
Against the backdrop of the bitcoin price movement above $50,000, the hashtag #LaserRayUntil100K appeared. The meme gained traction among bitcoin optimists confident in a short-term rally to $100,000.
