Elon Musk weighs buying a Shiba Inu, the dog that has become Dogecoin’s symbol

Tesla founder Elon Musk said he is buying a Shiba Inu. The businessman did not specify whether he meant a puppy of that breed or the Dogecoin cryptocurrency featuring the meme dog.

Musk accompanied the tweet with the hashtag #resistanceisfutile.

The post has already drawn more than 225,000 likes. Twitter users commented on it with images of Shiba Inu puppies captioned ‘hodler’:

They also suggested that the best name for the dog, if it really is the dog, would be EGOD [DOGE backwards – ForkLog note].

Earlier, Elon Musk, who called Dogecoin his favourite coin, repeatedly posted memes about it on Twitter. After another series of tweets in early February 2021, the price of the altcoin rose by nearly 50%.

In the same month, Musk bought the cryptocurrency for his youngest son X Æ A-12.

In response to rumours of an alleged SEC investigation into his tweets about Dogecoin, Musk wryly said that it would be wonderful.
