Esports organisation TSM signs partnership with Avalanche

The Avalanche network has become a partner of Swift, the company behind the esports organisation TSM and the Blitz Esports app.

The company plans to create its own blockchain-based subnet for hosting tournaments. Swift has also signed an agreement with the Core bridge that will allow players and fans to “store, sell and buy digital assets.”

“Web3-gaming is in the early stages of development. This is a very interesting technology, but it will take time to integrate,” said Andy Ding, CEO of TSM and Swift.

Blitz Subnet will use the native token of the AVAX blockchain to pay for gas and perform other operations.

TSM is one of the largest esports organisations, known for its professional team in the online game League of Legends (LoL). Its Blitz app has more than 30 million users. The app provides in-game utilities for LoL, Apex Legends, Valorant and Teamfight Tactics.

Fully customizable Avalanche subnets were created to help companies push the boundaries of what is possible for gaming, thanks to high transaction speeds, scalability and security,” said AVA Labs head John Wu.

In June 2021, TSM worked with the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX. The parties signed a contract worth $210 million to rebrand to TSM FTX.

Earlier in September 2022, the developers of the Zilliqa blockchain announced a gaming console for Web3 games. The presentation of the blockchain console was planned for the first quarter of 2023.
