Ethereum Classic price hits new high above $107

Ethereum Classic (ETC) price rose above the $107 level (per CoinGecko), setting a new all-time high.

On Binance US, the coin price briefly reached $150.

\n\n

\n\n

Over the past seven days, the asset has risen 200%. The market capitalization of the largest Ethereum fork surpassed $13.3 billion, ranking 16th by this metric.

\n\n

Against the ETC price rally, the assets under management of Grayscale’s ETC-based trust surpassed $1 billion for the first time.

During the current season for altcoins, several of the largest-cap cryptocurrencies have set new price records.

\n\n

On May 4, Ethereum’s price broke the $3500 mark. A day earlier, Binance’s BNB token reached a new high above $670, while Uniswap trading approached $45.

\n\n

On May 5, Chainlink reached $50.

\n\n

In August 2020, the ETC network was subjected to a series of 51% attacks. The losses from the first were estimated at $5.6 million, the second at $1.68 million. The third incident took place at the end of the month.

\n\n

In December, the planned Thanos hard fork took place, designed to enhance the cryptocurrency’s security.
