Ethereum Developers Set Timeline for Fusaka Hard Fork
The next major update, Fusaka, will be deployed on the Ethereum network in early November. A developer test network will be available from July 23, the ethPandaOps team announced.
During the hard fork, developers will implement 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). Key among them are:
- EIP-7825 — aims to enhance network resilience against attacks and improve scalability;
- increasing the gas limit to 150 million to handle more transactions;
- abandoning EIP-7907, which proposed doubling the contract code size limit.
The main goal of Fusaka is to boost the network’s scalability and resilience, as well as to simplify the creation of decentralized applications. Ethereum developers will launch public test networks in September and October.
The protocol support team intends to deploy the update before the Devconnect conference, which will take place from November 17 to 22 in Buenos Aires.

On August 1, the AllCoreDevs meeting will also approve features for the next hard fork, Glamsterdam. This aligns with Ethereum’s new strategy of releasing updates every six months.
Back in May, the last upgrade, Pectra, took place. Developers implemented improvements in account abstraction and increased the staking limit for validators. The update also enhanced L2 solutions, reducing fees.
Earlier, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin supported increasing the gas limit per block on the Ethereum network.
