Ethereum price breaks above $1,400 and posts a new all-time high

On Tuesday, January 19, Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, surpassed the $1,400 mark, setting a new all-time high (on Bitstamp).

Update: Ethereum rose to $1,435.

According to CoinGecko, the cryptocurrency price at the time of writing stands at 3.8% below the service’s all-time high — $1,448.18.

The autumn rally in Ethereum has driven up demand for mining hardware. Since the end of 2020, the price of video cards, on average, has risen by $100. According to some media reports, there is already a shortage of certain models on the market.
