The crypto-friendly investment platform eToro will block US users from trading Ripple’s XRP token. This was reported on the on the company’s site.
The ability to exchange the token for any other asset will be unavailable on January 3.
“Given the recent SEC lawsuit against Ripple Labs, eToro USA LLC (eToro) has decided to prohibit purchases of XRP on the eToro platform and prohibit any XRP conversions on customers’ wallets on January 3 at 00:00 EST,” said company representatives.
Users must close their XRP positions by January 24. They may also transfer coins from the eToro wallet to an external wallet.
Recently, XRP support for Ripple’s token ceased on Bitstamp, Binance US, Galaxy Digital and Jump Trading. OKCoin and Coinbase will discontinue support for XRP across all serviced regions.
