Former Russian hockey player jailed for four years for cryptocurrency fraud

The Presnensky Court in Moscow found the former Slovak Slovan Bratislava hockey player Igor Musatov guilty of cryptocurrency fraud on a particularly large scale.

According to RBK, citing the court’s press service, he was sentenced to four years in a general-regime penal colony.

Musatov himself did not admit guilt.

Earlier, the suspect was detained last year in connection with a Bitcoin fraud case worth $800,000.

According to investigators, in 2018 he arranged to sell cryptocurrency to entrepreneur V. M. Abelyan, but the bitcoins were never received by him.
