
FTX CEO signals possible restart of the exchange
FTX’s new head, John Ray, said he is examining the possibility of restarting the bankrupt exchange. As The Wall Street Journal reports.
“All of this is being discussed,” the executive said in the interview.
According to him, a specially formed working group is examining whether reviving FTX.com could create more value for users than liquidating the platform’s assets.
FTT rose about 30%. At one point the price exceeded $2.6, then stabilized around $2.3.
In November 2022, the FTX Group filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The former chief executive Sam Bankman-Fried was replaced by John Ray III.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that FTX Group advisers restored access to assets worth more than $5 billion. According to court filings, about 117 potential buyers are interested in acquiring FTX’s subsidiaries.
