The cryptocurrency exchange Gemini is contemplating an IPO in 2025, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Bloomberg.
No final decision has been made, and discussions are ongoing.
A similar possibility is being explored by the leadership of Bullish Global, a platform associated with entrepreneur Peter Thiel.
In June 2024, Gemini founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss supported Donald Trump and donated $2 million to him in Bitcoin.
Later, the first of the brothers urged 50 million American cryptocurrency investors to pressure campaign participant Kamala Harris to dismiss SEC head Gary Gensler before the presidential elections.
Back in January, Gemini established a hub in Malta to ensure compliance with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.
