Georgia Proposes Blockchain Education for Kindergarten to 12th Grade

The House of Representatives in the U.S. state of Georgia has introduced a resolution urging the education of K-12 students (from kindergarten to 12th grade) on blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and Web3.

Democratic Party representatives have called on the Department of Education to “conduct an awareness campaign” among students and pupils.

According to the document, technological literacy is “an important skill for people of all ages.”

The authors noted that blockchain technology is “the future of online interactions,” and cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, are “increasingly accepted” and are becoming a substitute for traditional currencies. In their view, the internet of the future will be built on Web3 technologies with greater transparency and security, and art has already taken the form of NFTs.

“Informing children about the potential of such technologies and encouraging their use from an early age will help them apply these technologies more effectively in the future,” the resolution states.

In March, authorities in California revised a bill on money transfers, introducing amendments to ensure the protection of cryptocurrency owners’ rights.
