Vitalik’s father, Dmitry Buterin, who attended the premiere in Toronto, praised the film. He noted that the creators highlighted the key stages of Ethereum’s history, its technical aspects, and the team’s worldview and long-term vision for the project.

“Many thanks to the creators for showcasing Vitalik’s personality and sincerity, as well as the spirit of the vibrant international Ethereum community,” he wrote on Facebook.

Starting September 20, “Vitalik: An Ethereum Story” will be available on streaming services via an on-chain screening. Tickets are available as tokens priced at $20. The creators plan to sell 10,000 copies, with proceeds allocated for the film’s marketing and distribution.

A global release on streaming services is scheduled for early 2025.

In spring 2022, rumors emerged that Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions would produce a film based on “The Infinite Machine,” a book about the origins of the Ethereum blockchain.

In October 2023, Bloomberg released a documentary titled “RUIN: Money, Ego and Deception at FTX,” focusing on Sam Bankman-Fried and the collapse of FTX.
