Google Enhances Gemini with Human Image Generator
Google has introduced a tool for creating custom versions of Gemini—known as Gems—and integrated the Imagen 3 image generator into the chatbot, enabling the creation of human images.
Gems allow Advanced, Business, and Enterprise subscribers to tailor AI for expert work on specific topics. Users can write instructions for the neural network and assign it a name.
“With Gems, you can create a team of experts to help you plan a complex project, brainstorm ideas for an upcoming event, or craft the perfect social media post headline,” the company blog states.
Gems can remember a set of instructions to save time on repetitive tasks. Developers have launched a series of ready-made settings.
Recently, AI startup Anthropic made Artifacts available to all Claude users—a tool designed to optimize the neural network’s performance.
In August, OpenAI released a feature to customize GPT-4o according to the unique characteristics of individual companies.
Imagen 3 in Gemini
Google has added the Imagen 3 image generator to Gemini.
“Imagen 3 sets a new standard for image quality, creating it from just a few words. You can ask Gemini to create images in various styles, such as photorealistic landscapes, textured oil paintings, or whimsical clay scenes,” the team noted.
In mid-August, the company released a new version of the Imagen 3 image generator.
The feature for generating human images is set to launch in the coming days. Early access will be granted to Advanced, Business, and Enterprise users in English. The company announced improvements to the generator, eliminating the possibility of creating photorealistic, identifiable, and underage individuals. The generation of excessively gory, violent, or sexual scenes is also unavailable.
In February, Google suspended the chatbot’s ability to create human images after users complained about historical inaccuracies. The neural network depicted Black Founding Fathers and female U.S. senators from the 19th century, although in reality, they were all white men.
Earlier in August, Google introduced three new AI-based features for the desktop version of Chrome: the Lens service for image analysis, the Tab Compar shopping assistant, and natural language integration for search history.
