Google Introduces AI-Powered Image Editing in Gemini
Google has introduced the ability to upload and edit images in the Gemini chatbot application.
Users can alter backgrounds, objects, add new elements, and make other adjustments to uploaded photos or AI-generated images.
Google encourages experimentation — for instance, upload your photo and try out different hair colors.
“This intuitive multi-step editing capability means you can receive richer, contextual responses to your prompts with integrated text and images. For example, ask Gemini to create a first draft of a bedtime story about dragons and provide images to accompany the story,” the company blog states.
All works created or edited with AI contain an invisible digital watermark, SynthID.
Back in March, AI startup OpenAI added an image generator based on the GPT-4o model to ChatGPT and Sora. The tool went viral as users widely created images in the anime style of Studio Ghibli.
