To use the feature, tap the camera button in the Maps search bar and point your phone at nearby buildings and places. The app will display white dots indicating landmarks.

With AR navigation, users can search for venues such as cafes, restaurants, or ATMs.

The feature will be available in the coming week to residents of London, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo and Paris on Android and iOS.

The company also released a number of other improvements for Maps. The ‘Accessible places’ feature, marking establishments with wheelchair accessibility, and the display of charging stations for electric vehicles are now available worldwide.

Google improved multisearch in the Lens app. Users can take a photo of a dish to learn its name and nearby restaurants that serve it.
