Hackers breach Russia’s Ministry of Construction website and demand 0.5 BTC ransom

In the early hours of June 5, Russia’s Ministry of Construction website came under a cyberattack. The hackers demanded a ransom of 0.5 BTC by June 7, otherwise they threatened to release users’ personal data publicly, according to RBC.

The DumpForums hack group claimed responsibility for the breach.

Soon a notice of maintenance appeared on the site. At the time of writing, the ministry’s page was functioning with interruptions.

The Ministry of Construction заявили that the personal data of site users are safe.

Earlier, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the hacking collective Anonymous declared cyberwar on Russia. They attacked Sberbank, ЦБ РФ, российские стриминговые сервисы Wink и ivi, QIWI and other agencies and companies.
