
Hackers steal over $23 million in cryptocurrencies from Alphapo
Unknown attackers siphoned digital assets worth more than $23 million from Alphapo’s hot wallets, according to on-chain researcher ZachXBT.
Losses for the project comprised assets on the Ethereum and Tron networks, plus an unconfirmed amount in Bitcoin.
On Ethereum, the attackers swapped all tokens for ETH and moved them to the Avalanche bridge.
One of Alphapo’s clients, HypeDrop, paused withdrawals. Details of the incident remain unclear.
The Cyvers Alerts team suggested a private-key leak. The analytics platform recorded seven transactions to the attackers’ address totaling over $100 million.
In the first half of 2023, the crypto industry faced 395 hacks , losing about $479.4 million.
