Hermitage Announces NFT Sales on Binance NFT Marketplace

The State Hermitage and the Binance NFT marketplace have announced the start of sales of tokenised artworks from a limited digital collection. ForkLog was told by the museum’s press office.

The auction opens on 31 August at 15:00 (MSK) and will end on 7 September at 15:00 (MSK).

The collection is based on images of items from the museum’s collection as part of the project ‘Your token is stored in the Hermitage’. The starting price for each work is $10,000 BUSD.

The series includes digital copies of the paintings ‘Madonna Litta’ by Leonardo da Vinci, ‘Judith’ by Giorgione, ‘Lilac Bush’ by Vincent van Gogh, ‘Composition VI’ by Wassily Kandinsky, and ‘A Corner of the Garden at Montgeron’ by Claude Monet.

All works are created in two copies: one will be kept in the Hermitage, the second is presented on Binance NFT. Their authenticity is certified by the museum director Mikhail Piotrovsky. The metadata records the date, time and place of signing.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the museum. Auction winners will also receive a video in NFT format showing the moment Piotrovsky signed the copy they purchased.

Earlier, Binance NFT launched on 24 June Binance NFT began negotiations with the museum regarding the sale of tokenised artworks on 2 July.

Earlier it was reported that the Hermitage will host a non-fungible token exhibition by the end of 2021.
