The Toronto Stock Exchange-listed company HIVE Blockchain has purchased and immediately installed 1,240 WhatsMiner M30S miners, according to a press release.
Representatives of HIVE Blockchain noted that this is the largest batch of new equipment in the company’s history. With devices from MicroBT, the Canadian firm’s hash rate has nearly doubled—from 116 PH/s to 229 PH/s.
The hash rate of the WhatsMiner M30S is 88 TH/s. At the current Bitcoin price, the device yields about $12.81 per day, according to F2Pool calculator.
The company plans to raise its hash rate to 1,000 PH/s within the next 12 months.
HIVE Blockchain still expects the delivery of 200 S17e miners from Bitmain, with delivery timelines delayed due to production issues at the Chinese company.
Since the start of the year, the company’s shares have surged 488%. In Q1, HIVE Blockchain’s net income amounted to $1.8 million.
Earlier, the Canadian mining company received from rival Cryptologic equipment with a 30 MW mining capacity.
