Huobi announces plan to launch Visa debit card

The cryptocurrency exchange Huobi announced plans to issue a Visa debit card.

Initially, applications for the Huobi Visa Card will be open to residents of several European countries, with availability extending to users in other regions where the platform operates.

The company said the initiative aims to create a gateway between fiat and cryptocurrencies and to foster the development of the digital industry.

“With the payment card, we aim to contribute to expanding access to financial services worldwide,” said Justin Sun, a member of Huobi’s Global Advisory Council.

Users will be able to use their balances in digital assets to pay at all retail points within the Visa network.

Cashback on transactions in Huobi Token (HT). Holders can also expect cashback vouchers, airdrops coupons with airdrops, booster coupons, APY, privileges in Huobi Earn products and other bonuses.

The card is available in five levels — Scout, Navigator, Adventurer, Explorer and Expert.

Earlier, the American Gemini exchange and the Australian CoinJar platform issued cryptocurrency cards with Mastercard’s backing.
