For July 2022, the Canadian mining company Hut 8 Mining accumulated 7,736 BTC (about $178 million at the rate at the time of writing). This is stated in the press release.
During the reporting period, 330 BTC were mined at an average daily production of 10.6 BTC. All coins were left on Hut 8’s balance sheet.
As of July 31, the company’s hashrate stood at roughly 2.92 EH/s.
According to Hut 8’s CEO Jamie Leverton, the company’s non-Bitcoin mining business continues to grow. She spoke of signing a contract with the mining pool Foundry as a cloud-services client.
Earlier, Bitcoin’s mining difficulty rose by 1.74% to 28.17 T.
Earlier in July, the mining company Argo Blockchain mined 219 BTC, up 22% from the previous month.
In early August, Marathon Digital Holdings agreed to open a $100 million revolving credit line with Silvergate Capital, secured by Bitcoin.
Chipmaker Canaan announced plans to open a cryptocurrency mining facility in the United States.
Earlier, the largest Monero mining pool — MineXMR — announced it would cease operations on August 12.
