
In Dagestan, another instance of electricity theft for Bitcoin mining detected
Dagestan police discovered a mining farm in a non-residential building in the village of Botlikh. The agency’s press service said.
According to investigators, the farm has been operating since August 2021, and the equipment belongs to a 57-year-old local resident. To mine cryptocurrency, the suspect illegally connected to a nearby power line.
The preliminary damage to the power company is estimated at 600,000 rubles.

The case materials have been forwarded for a procedural decision.
Earlier in Dagestan, another large mining farm was identified. The monthly damage from its operation, according to preliminary data, amounted to about a million rubles. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is identifying the owner of the equipment.
