In Irkutsk, police accidentally uncovered a major theft of mining equipment. This was reported by the local interior ministry.
Traffic police stopped a Nissan Tiida with fake license plates. At the station it emerged that the driver and the passengers were involved in the theft of eight mining devices.
One of them had keys to the car, which was captured by a surveillance camera at the scene of the crime. The suspects climbed over a fence and stole equipment from a container valued at more than 500,000 rubles.
The detainees were men aged 21 to 26. Police recovered two of the stolen ASIC miners during searches.
A criminal case has been opened into the theft. One of the suspects has been remanded in custody following a court order.
Earlier in Angarsk, four local residents who broke into garage boxes and stole ASIC miners are due to appear before the court.
