Ingush miner stole 22.5 million rubles’ worth of electricity from Rosseti North Caucasus

A resident of Ingushetia organized a mining farm that illegally drew electricity from Rosseti North Caucasus, according to Kommersant.

According to law enforcement, before placing devices for cryptocurrency mining, the suspect found partners in Moscow, promising to negotiate with the energy-supply company to reduce prices to 2 rubles per kWh.

In December 2018 he organized a mining farm in a rented premises. He did not pay for electricity, tampering with the meters, but continued to receive money from partners, thereby embezzling 4.5 million rubles.

The losses to Rosseti amounted to 22.5 million rubles.

\n

The criminal case against the businessman has been sent to the Magas District Court in Ingushetia.

\n

Earlier in September, Rosseti North Caucasus identified theft of electricity totaling 1.3 million rubles by a mining farm in Dagestan.
