Iron Fish announces airdrop ahead of mainnet launch

Supported by a16z and Sequoia Capital, the Iron Fish platform will launch its mainnet on March 14, 2023 — Pi Day (3.14).

The team will also conduct an airdrop of 940,000 IRON tokens among testnet users who complete KYC procedures.

The project is developing a layer-1 blockchain to provide user privacy for Web3 using interoperability technologies and zero-knowledge proofs zk-SNARK.

«Our goal is to become the privacy platform for the crypto industry — even for assets on other networks — with support for user-owned assets and compatibility with cross‑chain bridges», Iron Fish said.

According to the team, over the course of three test networks more than 50 million transactions have been processed, with peak node counts exceeding 60,000.

After the mainnet launch, all platform options will be available, including transferring funds, running nodes, mining, and creating and burning private user assets.

Earlier in January, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin named privacy “the biggest problem” for the network. Among the technologies to address it, he cited zk-SNARK.
