Issuer of Nornickel tokens has received a Bank of Russia license

The Russian tokenization platform Atomyze, one of whose investors is Vladimir Potanin’s Interros, has received from the Bank of Russia the status of operator of an information system for managing digital financial assets (DFA). ForkLog said representatives of the company.

The company obtained the right to issue and circulate DFAs in exchange for rubles, as well as to store DFAs, maintain the holders’ register, support electronic wallets and service channels for DFA holders.

The Atomyze blockchain ecosystem tokenises physical assets in Russia, the United States and Switzerland. Through tokens, it provides individuals with the opportunity to invest in precious metals, and for legal entities — to manage large volumes of metals, relying on market dynamics.

“Modern business is inseparable from digitalisation, as it opens new opportunities to access global markets, enhances the competitiveness of the Russian economy as a whole, and brings more people into economic life,” said Vladimir Potanin, president of Interros.

One of the first issuers of the global Atomyze platform was the Global Palladium Fund (GPF), which launched an ETC, backed by Nornickel metals, on six major European exchanges, including the London and Frankfurt.

The Atomyze tokenization platform ecosystem was created in 2019 with the support of an international group of investors, including GPF and Interros of Vladimir Potanin. The platform was developed by the Russian company Newity, based on the Hyperledger Fabric solution, in the development of which IBM participated. The project is legally supported by Findustrial Consulting Group.

Earlier in 2021, an application for the inclusion of Atomyze in the Bank of Russia’s registry.

Earlier, the palladium fund of Nornickel launched the world’s first ETC on a basket of metals for electric vehicles.
