JPMorgan: 72% of institutional investors are not interested in cryptocurrencies

601 of 835 surveyed institutional traders do not plan to invest in digital assets. The results come from a JPMorgan study.

The sample included 835 institutions from 60 different countries. Responses were collected from January 3 to January 23.

Only 6% of respondents said they plan to start trading digital assets this year, 14% over a five-year horizon. 8% of respondents have already added cryptocurrencies to the list of tradable instruments.

The study also showed that 12% of institutional traders believe that blockchain technology will shape the future of trading. The largest share of responses (53%) was for artificial intelligence and machine learning.

As reported in 82% of clients with AUM from £1m to £5m ($1.23-6.15 million) over the last 12 months sought investment advice from their personal advisors about cryptocurrency investments, according to the deVere Group.

Earlier, Binance found that 88% of its users plan to continue investing in digital assets.
