Justin Bieber’s NFT Investments Plummet by 95%

In 2022, pop star Justin Bieber acquired NFTs valued at approximately $2 million, which are now worth just over $100,000. Losses have reached 94.7%, according to Arkham Intelligence.

Initially, the singer’s wallet received $2.34 million in Ethereum (ETH). The majority of this sum, $1.86 million, was spent on purchasing two Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and a pair of Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC).

The portfolio also included tokens from the World of Women, Doodles, Otherdeed, and Metacard collections.

Since then, the assets have depreciated between 89.7% and 97.4%.

The wallet still holds one BAYC and one MAYC, now collectively valued at $47,300.

Since 2022, NFT trading volumes on Ethereum have significantly declined. At its peak in April, the weekly figure reached $510 million. It now stands at $40-60 million, according to The Block.

Minimum prices for token collections have also dropped considerably. For BAYC, it rose to 81.5 ETH in January 2023, but has since fallen to 13.5 ETH.

For MAYC, the corresponding values are ~18.4 ETH and 2.3 ETH. Meanwhile, Ethereum prices have risen from $2400-2600 to $3150.

Back in March, BAYC #9258, owned by American comedian Kevin Hart since January 2022, was sold for 13.65 ETH — 76% below its purchase price.
