Tron founder Justin Sun has been appointed as the Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed microstate of Liberland.
“The electoral process, governed by a simple set of rules, was entirely algorithmic to ensure transparency. This system has a unique capability — eliminating doubts regarding election results,” states the website of the Bitcoin-friendly “free republic.”
Entrepreneur Evan Luthra and journalist Jillian Godsil have become new members of Congress.
Sun’s X account has yet to mention his new position.
Liberland is an unrecognized territory between Croatia and Serbia, covering an area of six square kilometers. The microstate was founded in 2015 by Czech citizen Vit Jedlička, who was later elected as its first president.
The national motto of Liberland is “live and let live,” and its official currency is Bitcoin.
At the end of 2021, Justin Sun announced his departure from the TRON Foundation to take up the position of Grenada’s representative to the World Trade Organization, a role he held until the end of March 2023.
Earlier, Arkham analysts estimated that the value of digital assets owned by the Tron founder exceeds $1 billion.
