
Kazakhstan to launch cryptocurrency exchange with Japanese investors
Kazakhstan and Japanese companies signed documents to establish a number of investment projects on the territory of Kazakhstan totaling $46 million. Among them is a cryptocurrency exchange, according to the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The cryptocurrency platform is planned to be launched on the basis of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

Initially, $13 million will be allocated to develop the exchange.

Japanese companies Smart Eco System, Number 1 Solution, S Objects and Nippon Investment Operating Company will also launch a project to implement blockchain technologies in industry, agriculture and other sectors.

Earlier reached preliminary agreements to attract investments of 300 billion tenge (more than $700 million) into the cryptocurrency mining sector.

In Kazakhstan, it is planned to open one of the world’s largest data centres.

Earlier this year, local authorities enacted a series of amendments to legislation affecting blockchain, digital assets and mining.
