LayerZero integrates Google Cloud oracles

For all applications in LayerZero’s omnichain protocol, the use of Google Cloud service oracles is now available. By default, a specially configured message verifier will be installed on September 19.

The deployment of the tool means that LayerZero will use the secure infrastructure of one of the internet’s largest organizations, according to a statement.

Google Cloud oracles are designed to exchange information via the HTTPS protocol and to verify website certificates.

As a result of the integration, the solution will by default verify the authenticity of all messages in LayerZero.

The team noted that the oracles will become part of the protocol’s modular security architecture, alongside other data-verification tools such as PolyhedraZK. Application developers will be able to assemble their own stack of solutions according to their needs.

Previously LayerZero integrated with parachain Moonbeam, the Aptos platform and the zkEVM solution for scaling Ethereum from Polygon.

In April, LayerZero Labs, the company behind the project, raised $120 million in a Series B round valuing the company at $3 billion.

In September, during the bankruptcy proceedings of the FTX exchange, the FTX exchange filed a lawsuit against the firm seeking to recover $86 million.
