LayerZero Labs Halts Public Hunt for Sybil Attackers
LayerZero Labs CEO Bryan Pellegrino announced a temporary halt on accepting reports of Sybil addresses for participation in the LayerZero protocol airdrop for “a day or two” due to an influx of messages.
Bounty process will re-open in the next day or two.
A lot of this can be countered by moving to a better structure than github issues (reports not being removed) and adding a ‘bond’ (is ~0.02 ETH the right number?) in order to report.
The main things to solve for are — best…

Following the deadline for voluntary disclosure as a user of Sybil attack tactics (Sybil attack), the project launched a bounty program. Users were given the opportunity to report potential Sybils for a reward by posting data on GitHub.
According to Pellegrino, LayerZero received over 3000 reports and 30,000 appeals within a few hours.
Hahaha man, waking up to a warzone :D. We always knew this was going to be PvP but this is something else, I love this stuff though — time to clean things up!

“Waking up in a warzone. We always knew this was going to be ‘player versus player’, but this is something else. Although I love this stuff, it’s time to clean things up,” he wrote.
Some users sought the removal of accusers’ accounts on GitHub for knowingly false information. However, as some admitted, a new account was registered shortly after, from which a new list was published.
To address the issues, Pellegrino proposed introducing a bond of 0.02 ETH (~$60) for submitting a report and moving “to a better structure” than GitHub.
“The main focus should be that the best bounty hunters can still submit reports and ideally should be objective,” emphasized the head of LayerZero Labs.
Earlier, owners of more than 100,000 Sybil addresses voluntarily disclosed themselves as part of the team’s announced initiative.
