Ledger unveils Stax device, designed by Tony Fadell
Hardware-wallet maker Ledger unveiled a new device — Stax. Tony Fadell, the former head of the iPod development and release team at Apple, contributed to its creation.

A card-sized device is planned for release next year. It will cost $279, which is $130 more than the Ledger Nano X wallet.
The device’s e-ink display shows user NFTs in black-and-white. The device allows managing crypto assets (including exchanging and locking for staking), and connect to the Ledger Live app via Bluetooth.
Fadell got involved in the development of the new product about a year and a half ago. According to him, devices for digital assets should be used not only by geeks.
CEO Pascal Gauthier expressed hope that Fadell’s experience in creating mass-market devices would help popularize hardware wallets. He said that the hardware wallets used to resemble USB flash drives more.
«First you choose an iPod, then iPod Touch and eventually move to the iPhone. And this takes several years. We at Ledger have now come close to an iPod in the form of Stax», — said Gauthier.
Earlier, amid the FTX collapse, Ledger and Trezor recorded a substantial uptick in hardware-wallet sales.
