Lens Protocol launches scaling solution for Web3 social networks
The Lens Protocol team unveiled the beta version of Bonsai, a blockchain-based scaling solution for social networks.

Aave Companies, the protocol’s developer, said the initiative is specifically designed to handle a high volume of transactions with minimal associated costs.
«To remain competitive with Web 2.0, decentralized social platforms must scale. With the ability to support mass consumer adoption, we will see continued Web3 innovation, Web3» — said Stani Kulechov, CEO of Aave and founder of Lens Protocol.
Lens Protocol — is a composable and decentralized social graph that uses smart contracts on the Polygon blockchain to create decentralized applications.
The protocol is aimed at making Web3 social networks resilient to censorship and helps unlock new forms of content monetization using NFT and other crypto assets. Apps Lenster, Lens Booster, Phaver, Lenstube, LensPort, Memester have been built on top of it.
Bonsai processes most off-chain, relying on its data availability layer. In addition, it will include a verifier component to help validate and confirm transactions.
In March, the Polygon team launched the beta version of the zkEVM mainnet for Ethereum scaling based on zero-knowledge proofs.
