
Livepeer, a streaming service on the Ethereum blockchain, raises $20 million.
The decentralized video streaming platform Livepeer, built on the Ethereum blockchain, raised $20 million in a Series B financing round.

It was led by Digital Currency Group’s Barry Silbert, with participants including Northzone, Coinbase Ventures, CoinFund, Animal Ventures and 6th Man Ventures.
Livepeer will deploy the capital to accelerate go-to-market, expand technical capabilities, and support other blockchains, the company’s CEO Dag Petkanics said. To this end, the firm plans to grow its team from 18 to roughly 30 people by year-end.
According to СМИ, the total amount raised by the platform in Series B rounds reached $31 million.
Earlier, Grayscale Investments, a subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, launched a trust based on the native token Livepeer — LPT.
