Majority of US Voters Oppose Crypto Reserve Initiative

A majority of American voters are against a crypto reserve funded by government spending and do not view the development of the industry and blockchain technology as a priority. This is according to a survey by Data For Progress.

Among the 1,169 respondents, 51% are against the implementation of such a strategic reserve, 34% support the idea, and 15% are unsure. Among Republicans, 41% expressed support while 40% opposed it. Among Democrats, 29% agreed with the idea, whereas 59% disapproved.

45% of voters believe the US government should reduce funding for blockchain and cryptocurrency initiatives, ranking them lower in priority than AI and space programs. 10% of respondents favored increasing spending on the crypto industry.

In the US, there are plans to introduce a bill aimed at protecting a strategic bitcoin reserve from potential cancellation by a future head of state.
