Marathon trims mining output in November, and Riot Platforms mined 552 BTC

In early December, mining companies reported results for the past month. ForkLog has compiled the key figures in one piece.

Marathon Digital Holdings

In November Marathon Digital Holdings добыла 1187 BTC, down 1% from previous month.

The total includes 33 BTC from a 20% stake in a joint venture in the UAE and 3.5 BTC from an 80% stake in a data centre in Paraguay. About 27,200 Bitcoin-mining devices were connected to the site in Garden City, Texas—the in-house fleet rose by 17%, to roughly 184,400 units.

«In November we increased our internal hashrate by 20%, to 23.1 EH/s […]. Outside the United States we achieved further progress in Abu Dhabi, where we now have 2.5 EH/s […], the remaining 4.6 EH/s, as expected, will be connected by January 2024,» said Fred Thiel, the head of the company.

As of 30 November Marathon had 14,025 BTC on its balance. The firm sold 700 BTC to cover direct costs and intends to realise some of its first-cryptocurrency assets in the future “to support monthly operations, treasury management, and overall corporate objectives”.

Argo Blockchain

Riot Platforms

«In aggregate, the two purchase orders will add 26 EH/s to Riot’s own mining capacity. It is expected that deployment of these miners will begin in Q1 2024 and be completed by the second half of 2025. After full deployment in 2025, Riot expects total hashrate to reach 38 EH/s», — says the release.

HIVE Blockchain

Bitfarms

За минувший месяц Bitfarms сгенерировала 392 BTC — на 1,5% меньше октябрьского показателя. На конец сентября хешрейт достиг 6,4 EH/s.

«We placed an order to purchase 35 888 high-performance Bitmain T21 miners, deliveries planned from March 2024 to May 2024. Deploying these new miners across seven of eight existing farms in Quebec, together with the development of our new facility in Paso Pe, Paraguay, we expect to increase our operational capacity by 29%, to 310 MW, and hashrate by 88%, to 12 EH/s, in the first half of 2024,» said Bitfarms CEO Jeff Morphy.

From the 392 BTC mined, the company sold 350 BTC, earning $12.8 million. The number of Bitcoin held stood at 802 (approximately $30.3 million as of November 30).

Bitfarms reduced its total outstanding debt by $1.9 million, ending the month with a balance of $6 million.

Hut 8 Mining

For November Hut 8 Mining mined 390 BTC, compared with 112 BTC in October. At month-end the firm held 9,129 BTC.

On November 30 the miner announced the completion of the merger with US Bitcoin. The combined company was renamed Hut 8 Corp. (New Hut), with stock listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq under the ticker HUT.

«Our first operating report since the merger was completed at the end of November not only demonstrates the diversification of our production capacities and business portfolios across North American operations, but also quantitatively assesses the scale created by the merger,» said Hut 8 Mining CEO Jamie Leverton.

At month-end total hash rate under management stood at 21.6 EH/s. Hut 8 Mining’s standalone hash rate rose from 2.6 EH/s to 7.3 EH/s.

Bit Digital

Nasdaq-listed Bit Digital mined 142.7 BTC in November. The figure was up 24% from October.

As of month-end the company’s hashrate stood at about 2.25 EH/s.

Treasury reserves in Bitcoin and Ethereum were 551.8 BTC and 16,064.8 ETH with fair market values of about $20.8 million and $33 million respectively (as of 31 October). The company’s cash and cash equivalents stood at $14.9 million.
