Mark Cuban reveals his cryptocurrency portfolio

Billionaire Mark Cuban, on The Delphi podcast, said that he allocated 60% of his cryptocurrency investment portfolio to Bitcoin, 30% to Ethereum, and 10% to other digital assets.

Cuban called Bitcoin the best alternative to gold, and Ethereum the closest thing to a real currency. The investor did not disclose the value of his crypto portfolio.

\”It’s a pity I didn’t buy Ethereum sooner. I only started buying it four years ago,\” Cuban added.

He also noted that the recent success of decentralised finance and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) convinced him to believe in the crypto industry.

According to Cuban, Ethereum best matches his concept of the proper form of money due to its decentralised economy based on smart contracts. He compared Ethereum’s growth to the development of the Internet in the late 1990s.

\”As the Internet began to come into our lives, a range of applications appeared that could change the course of things as we knew them in the analogue world,\” the billionaire noted.

In February, Cuban dubbed Bitcoin a ‘store of value, not a currency’. In January, he compared the first cryptocurrency to Amazon during the dot-com bubble.

Earlier, Cuban a motivational quote in the form of an NFT. He also invested in the social-media platform Nifty’s, aimed at collectors and creators of non-fungible tokens.

Earlier, the billionaire bought Dogecoin for his 11-year-old son for educational purposes. Mark Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks became the first NBA team to start accepting Dogecoin as payment.
