The European Investment Bank will issue two-year bonds on the Ethereum blockchain for €100 million, Bloomberg reports.

Pricing is set for April 28. The arrangers will be Goldman Sachs, Banco Santander and Societe Generale.

In 2018, Banco Santander became one of the participants in a consortium of Spanish banks that carried out a pilot blockchain project issuing warrants.

In April 2021, Societe Generale issued the first structured product in the form of security tokens on the public Tezos blockchain.

Earlier, the Bundesbank tested an independent CBDC-free blockchain solution for settlements.
