Media: Pantera Capital raises $600 million for new crypto fund

The amount raised by venture firm Pantera Capital for its fourth fund, aimed at investing in crypto startups, reached $600 million. 75% of this sum came from institutional investors, The Information reports.

The strong participation by institutional investors contrasts with the launches of earlier structures, which were financed by the venture capital industry.

According to sources, Pantera Capital expects the fourth fund to reach $1 billion by March 2022.

As of the end of October, the firm managed $6.4 billion.

Earlier in November, competitor Paradigm announced the launch of a new venture fund worth $2.5 billion.

In June, another venture firm, Andreessen Horowitz formed its third cryptocurrency fund with assets totaling $2.2 billion.
