Twitter expects regulatory approval to implement payments in the near term, including cryptocurrencies. The Financial Times reports this.
According to the report, the social platform has filed for a licence and is developing the corresponding software. The initiative is part of Elon Musk’s plan to turn Twitter into a ‘super app’.
Initially, the payments option will target fiat currencies, but it will include the possibility of integrating digital assets.
In November 2022, Musk closed the purchase of Twitter for $44 billion.
Subsequently, the billionaire shared slides of a platform update, which included the option for payments in cryptocurrencies.
