Messari laid off 15% of its staff. The announcement was made by Ryan Selkis, founder and chief executive of the analytics company.
1/ Yesterday we made the difficult decision to restructure several of Messari’s internal teams, leading to a 15% staff reduction.
We’re grateful for the contributions of the teammates we have parted ways with, and will provide resources and connections to help them transition.

“Yesterday we made the difficult decision to restructure several internal teams, which led to a 15% staff reduction. We are grateful for the contributions of the colleagues we parted ways with, and will provide resources and connections to help them find new work,” he wrote.
Selkis said that Messari still has some open vacancies for which they plan to hire. He also stated that this move would provide the company with a stronger foundation for the long term.
By March, Microsoft will lay off around 10 000 people. The payments company PayPal will lay off 2,000 employees or about 7% of its workforce.
So far this year, layoffs have been reported at Coinbase, ConsenSys, Genesis Trading, Blockchain.com, Gemini, Luno, Matrixport, Chainalysis, Bittrex and other crypto companies.
As previously reported, in September 2022 Messari raised $35 million in a Series B funding round. It was led by Brevan Howard Digital, the unit of billionaire Alan Howard.
