Michael Saylor pledges to continue buying Bitcoin

Bitcoin remains an asset free from government and corporate interference, instilling confidence in this uncertain world. MicroStrategy head Michael Saylor said this in an interview with Fox News.

According to the head of MicroStrategy, markets have entered bear territory — bonds act as derivatives of currency, losing value along with stocks in a high-inflation environment.

The executive noted that in a highly emotional market an investor needs protection that the first cryptocurrency can provide.

“Two years after the crisis began, the money supply in the United States has increased by 36%. Gold has risen by 7%. The S&P index has risen by 29%, the Nasdaq by 19%. Bitcoin has gained 229% in price. If you can stomach volatility, you are looking to the future; there is a safe haven there. Bitcoin is an honest, open, egalitarian network with a promise to anyone who wants to join—that what you have belongs to you, and no one will take it away,” he said.

Saylor noted that as soon as he or the company has spare money, he will invest in Bitcoin.

“I will always be buying. We take a rigorous approach to this decision. The network is getting better. Adoption is growing. Signals from Washington point toward constructive regulation. The development of the Lightning Network brings us closer to Satoshi’s promise to enable everyone in the world to trade with each other at the speed of light. I will always buy at the top… Bitcoin is a tool for expanding economic opportunity,” he concluded.

MicroStrategy удерживает 129,218 BTC on its balance sheet — almost $4 billion at the price at the time of writing.

Earlier in May, Saylor заявил that the company had no plans to sell Bitcoin.
