Microsoft to roll out AI tools for Windows 11
The tech giant Microsoft announced Copilot, a system that unites Windows OS interfaces with AI language models.
According to the company, the tool works as an application and opens with a right-click. It will be available in built-in Windows utilities, including Paint, Photos and Clipchamp.
The Bing search engine will be integrated with OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 by Sam Altman. The utility will be able to provide personalised results by examining browser history to curate news.
Bing will also ask users more questions when shopping online, and then use that information to tailor recommendations.
In addition, an AI assistant will be added to the enterprise service Microsoft 365. The solution works with the familiar Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps, and costs $30 per month.
The language model was trained for several months in collaboration with Visa, General Motors, KPMG and Lumen Technologies.

“We are entering a new era of artificial intelligence that fundamentally changes how we relate to technology and derive value from it,” Microsoft said.

The early version of the AI assistant will be available as a free Windows 11 update from September 26. Tools for Bing, Edge and Microsoft 365 will be rolled out on November 11.
In March, Microsoft announced Copilot AI for Office apps.
In May, the corporation introduced new AI features for its services at the Build 2023 developer conference. The company outlined potential use cases for the tools.
