
MicroStrategy buys 13,005 more BTC
The software analytics provider MicroStrategy purchased 13,005 BTC for roughly $489 million. This was reported by CEO Michael Saylor.

In total MicroStrategy holds 105,085 BTC worth $2.74 billion. Their average purchase price is $26,080.
In August 2020, MicroStrategy invested $250 million in bitcoin. Later the company’s board of directors approved a policy of increasing investment in the first cryptocurrency using cash reserves.
In December the company issued convertible bonds for $650 million to buy digital gold.
In February 2021 the software provider additionally issued debt securities for more than $1 billion and again invested the raised funds in cryptocurrency.
In March MicroStrategy acquired 328 BTC, about 205 BTC and 262 BTC. For $15 million the firm invested in digital gold in April and May. Later the company bought 229 BTC for $10 million.
As reported, on June 14 the software provider announced the issue of senior convertible bonds worth $500 million with a coupon rate of 6.125%. The proceeds will be used by MicroStrategy to buy bitcoin, as well as capital from the announced additional share issuance worth $1 billion.
